Dai Temple the sacrificial site at the foot of Taishan

Dai Temple is a complete ancient architectural complex on Mount Tai. It is a Taoist shrine and a place where emperors of past dynasties held Fengshan ceremonies (grand sacrifices to heaven and earth) and offered sacrifices to the God of Mount Tai.

The city wall of Dai Temple is built high, and the temple looks magnificent. Dai Temple is commonly known as the "Temple of the Eastern Peak". It was first built in the Han Dynasty and was the place where emperors of successive dynasties held Fengshan ceremonies and worshipped the God of Mount Tai.

The main building of Dai Temple is the Tiankuang Hall, which is the palace of the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak. Inside the temple, there is the Taishan Stone Inscription in the seal script written by Li Si of the Qin Dynasty. Dai Temple, together with the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Three Confucian Sites in Qufu, Shandong, and the Outer Eight Temples of the Chengde Mountain Resort, is known as one of the four major ancient architectural complexes in China. When spring comes, wintersweet flowers, magnolias, peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, peonies, and herbaceous peonies in Dai Temple bloom in competition, presenting a breathtakingly beautiful sight!
