The Cemetery of Confucius, the family graveyard of Confucius and his descendants

The Cemetery of Confucius is located in Qufu City, Shandong Province. It is the family graveyard of Confucius and his descendants, and one of the family cemeteries with a relatively long history of continuation in the world. 

After verification, the Cemetery of Confucius has been in existence for more than 2,340 years. According to records, Confucius was buried here after his death. Initially, the cemetery was about 1 qing in size. Later, through continuous grants of land by emperors of successive dynasties, it had expanded to more than 3,000 mu by the Qing Dynasty.

The perimeter of the Cemetery of Confucius' wall is 7 kilometers long, with more than 10,000 tombs. There are tombs all over the place, numerous steles standing upright, and groups of stone sculptures. There are also scenic spots such as the Wangu Changchun Archway, the Zhishenglin Archway, the Sacrificial Hall, the Kaiting Pavilion, and the Zhibi Pavilion.
